April 2010 Second Warmest On Record

The wet snow flurries April 27 amounted to just a trace, and did  nothing to lower the month's record-setting warmth.

Even though it snowed in April, the first time since Feb. 28, last month goes into the record books as the warmest April on record. The average temperature last month was 51.7 degrees. That’s 7 degrees above average – and the warmest on record since 1844.

Legislature Recognizes Oswego State Hockey Team

The Oswego County Legislature recently presented members of the  Oswego State men’s hockey team with a certificate of recognition. At  hand to receive the proclamation were assistant captain Neil  Musselwhite, captain Tyler Lyon, Legislature Chairman Barry D. Leemann  presenting the proclamation; assistant coach Daniel Ford; and assistant  captain Brad Dormiedy. Among their many accomplishments this season is a  26-3-0 overall record and a 15-1-0 conference record, making them this  year’s SUNYAC champions. The Oswego County Legislature recently presented members of the Oswego State men’s hockey team with a certificate of recognition.

Rotarians Hear About Fort Ontario

At a recent Fulton Sunrise Rotary meeting, Rotarian Diane  Cooper-Currier introduced Paul Lear, Historic Site Manager of Fort  Ontario.  Paul talked about the history of the Fort from the early  1800's to the fifties and sixties when it became a State Park.    Unfortunately, this park, which has contributed so much to history and  gave so much pleasure to  thousands of visitors, is among the 13 State  Parks targeted for closure by the State.    The Fulton Sunrise Rotary  meets every Friday at 7 AM at Fulton's Riverside Inn.At a recent Fulton Sunrise Rotary meeting, Rotarian Diane Cooper-Currier introduced Paul Lear, Historic Site Manager of Fort Ontario.
