Fulton Schools’ Budget Approved; It Cuts 20 Jobs, Spends a Little Less, Taxes a Little More

Fulton Board of Education members approved a budget for 2011-12 Tuesday night that raises taxes about 3.5% while cutting spending, eliminating more than 20 positions and reducing two academic programs praised for keeping students in school.

Participating in the Fitzhugh Park Elementary School kick off are (front) Mikayla Trapasso, Elaina Broadwell, Libby Rookey, Mariah Morley, Brandon Meyers and Robin Huang. In back are Aaron Rowan, Ryan Tamayo, Tom Salvador and Donna Simmons who all joined with the Can Man.

Novelis and the Oswego City School District have teamed up once again this year in a major aluminum can recycling campaign.

The Oswego Youth Community Orchestra will perform Thursday at 6:45 p.m. at Springside at Seneca Hill, 10 County Route 45A, Oswego. The concert theme is Oswego Stands Proud, featuring music played during some of America’s most difficult times.
