Animal Cruelty Complaint Leads to Palermo Man’s Arrest
The Palermo man who became an everyday presence at the child endangerment trial of Erin Maxwell has been charged with endangering his own child and a family pet.
State Police report that a person called to say that Steven D. Burdick, 45, of 4102 Route 3, Palermo, had a dog tied up in his front yard that had been hit by a vehicle the night before.

County To Further Scrutinize Options For Health Care Programs
A resolution to initiate a request for proposals to explore alternatives for home health care in the county was sent back to the committee level at this month’s legislature meeting. Legislators have several questions about how this will impact the county’s employees and budget. New York State is no longer providing state aid reimbursements to counties for their Certified Home Health Agency (CHHA) and Long Term Care (LTC) programs.
