The annual Syracuse University High School Press Day provided an opportunity for Oswego High School journalists.

Strawberry farming will be the topic of the next Oswego Town Historical Society meeting on June 20. The topic will focus on the strawberry industry in Oswego Town. The meeting begins at 6 p.m.

Oz will hold a recruitment night and present a free intraleague bout titled Game Over, sponsored by the LabMan conference, at 7 p.m. in Oswego’s Crisafulli Rink.

The Scriba Volunteer Fire Department is joining the town of Scriba in celebrating the township’s bicentennial with events on the evening of June 15 and 17. On June 15, the department will be having a chicken barbecue and barn dance. On June 17, the department is sponsoring a car show and open house at the fire station.

It’s always extra special for me when I get to honor women for the work that they have done to make our region a better place. Last week, I had the privilege of recognizing nearly one dozen women from Central and Northern New York at my “Women of Distinction” ceremony in Watertown.
