Hayden Ward (Sr., Montauk, N.Y.) had everything going for him on Senior Night, tallying career highs in points (33) and rebounds (18), as the Oswego State men’s basketball team (17-6, 10-6 SUNYAC) held off a late Oneonta (4-20, 3-14 SUNYAC) charge in a 79-75 win on Tuesday night.

Oswego State women’s basketball team edges Oneonta, headed to playoffs
Senior Kassie Kleine (Cazenovia, N.Y.) paced the Oswego State women’s basketball team (16-7, 10-6 SUNYAC) with 15 points, but it was her ninth rebound of the game that helped the Lakers come away with a thrilling 47-46 win against Oneonta (12-12, 9-8) Tuesday night.

School District To Pay Back Indeck
At Tuesday’s school board meeting, the district approved a settlement of the tax challenge brought by Indeck-Oswego, seeking a reduction of the assessed value of the Oswego Steam Station. The assessed value will drop from $10,000,000 to $5,542,000 for tax year 2009-10; $3,500,000 for tax year 2010-11, 2011-12 and 2012-13, with refunds paid based on reduced assessments.
