On August 14, 2013 at about 9:15 p.m., members of the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office were sent to investigate a reported domestic incident at 55 Siembor Drive in the Town of Oswego. When deputies arrived, they found the body of a 43-year-old woman in one of the bedrooms of the residence.

Preparation is under way for the 22nd Annual CNY Great Pumpkin Fest. The event will be held October 5 and 6 beginning at 11 a.m. each day at Washington Square Park. SUNY Oswego will open two exhibitions, one focused on rural hardships during the Dust Bowl and Depression, the other on sculpture inspired by water, on Sept. 6, in Tyler Art Gallery. Both exhibitions, “The Era of the Dust Bowl,” in conjunction with the college’s Oswego Reading Initiative, and an installation titled “Ebb & Flow,” will run through Oct. 5 in the gallery in Tyler Hall.

Theodore P. Siembor, 94, a resident of Ellen St. Oswego, passed away Monday August 12, 2013, at St. Luke Health Services.
The city of Oswego Department of Public Works Water Maintenance personnel will be performing preventative maintenance flushing of the water distribution system on the eastside of the city starting on August 19. The affected area will be north of State Route 104E to the lakeshore and from East First Street to the eastern city limits, starting at East First and Bridge streets.
