THIS JUST IN: Fulton Police arrested two subjects attempting to steal scrap metal from the former Nestle building located at 555 S. Fourth St. in Fulton. Officers were aware of the activity after receiving a report the previous evening that someone had stolen a large amount of copper pipe from the property. On Friday at about 12:15 a.m., officers located two men inside a fenced in area on the property. Through the investigation, it was found that the two men were allegedly attempting to steal scrap copper pipe from large pieces of machinery that remain on the property.
The Oswego High School varsity football team nearly came home with a road win on Friday night while the golf team continued to do well on the links with two wins. Meanwhile, the boys jayvee soccer team remained unbeaten.
A special orientation time was coordinated on the first day of school where students were matched with high school student peer leaders who took students on a tour of the building, helped them find their classrooms, practice lockers and decipher their schedules as well as help with ice breaker activities to get to know each other in home rooms.

They have begun to gather testimony from business groups and other experts in tax policy in reaction to rankings that consistently rank New York’s tax burden as one of the highest in the country. The fact that New York state has high taxes is hardly a surprise to anyone living in the state.

Hundreds of spectators will pack Joe Wilber Field this Saturday night for the annual Oswego High School Marching Buccaneers “Pageant of Champions.” The “Pageant of Champions” usually attracts a standing-room only crowd and begins at 6 p.m. with Small School 3 Westmoreland followed by Large School 3 Auburn. The Small School 2 bands in competition include Jordan-Elbridge and Phoenix while the Large School 2 bands will be Central Square and Cicero-North Syracuse.
Students in Kerrie Phillips’ fifth grade class at Fairgrieve Elementary School recently presented a program during Morning Express to celebrate the birthday of the United States Constitution. The students gave a brief history of the Constitution and facts about the Constitutional Convention.
