Amber Lilly Lischak was born in Oswego Hospital on Dec. 24, 2013.
Students in Monique Ritter’s seventh grade English class were perfect examples of what philanthropists do; they give unselfishly to a greater cause. The students, after reading “A Long Walk to Water,” a novel that is part of their Common Core modules for ELA, decided, along with their teacher to join the cause championed by the book’s inspiration and main character Salva Dut.
Also, an unarmed Air National Guard drone crashes into Lake Ontario, the Lady Bucs claim volleyball section championship, proponents of the Youth Advocate Program plead with county to keep it in the budget and the city was working with hospital officials to clear parking congestion along West Mohawk Street.
Sandy Creek Elementary School will be conducting registration for the Pre-K and Kindergarten classes of 2014-2015 on February 5 in the Elementary Office area. This registration is for incoming Pre-K students, who must be 4 years old on or before December 1, 2014, and incoming kindergarten students who do not attend the Pre-K Program in Sandy Creek Elementary School.
David Rath, chairman of the Tourism Advisory Council, presented the awards to Robert Green of Fulton, James Hotchkiss of Mexico, and County Legislator Morris Sorbello, District 23, of Granby. In addition, the council recognized outgoing County Legislator Louella LeClair, District 25, Fulton, for her many years of support of the tourism industry in Oswego County.
The championship of the Festival of Lights Bowling Tournament in Niagara Falls has been a desire and goal for the Oswego High School Buccaneers. On Monday, the Bucs competed in the annual holiday event and came away with the championship. Oswego captured the boys’ team title with 6,317 for six games, but had to rally to win.
