Carly Hewitt of Oswego, who is in the diagnostic medical sonography program in RIT’s College of Health Sciences and Technology, made the Dean’s List for the Spring 2013-2014 semester.

CNY Arts Center’s first Recording Artist Showcase, 5 p.m. July 5 at Bullhead Point on Lake Neatahawanta, will celebrate the accomplishments of local musicians including Gina Holsopple.

Students in grades kindergarten through sixth bonded over fun activities during Fairgrieve’s recent Game Day.

The Fairley Elementary School gymnasium was filled to capacity Wednesday morning amid much pomp and circumstance for pre-kindergarten graduation. Sixty-four pre-k students earned their diplomas after a year of hard work and dedication in the classroom.

Students in sixth grade at Granby Elementary celebrated the American economy with a “Free Market Fair.” The fair was culminating activity for a social studies unit on the economy, where students studied capitalism and the Egyptian, Chinese, Indian and Medieval economies.

Teachers, faculty and administrators at Hannibal’s Fairley Elementary School applauded their students’ academic and personal growth throughout the school year with celebratory events in June. In what has become an annual tradition in the district, students participated in field days where they enjoyed a variety of art, music and physical education activities.

Citizenship was on display at Fairgrieve Elementary School during June and 22 students earned recognition for exemplifying the virtue of the month. One student from each classroom in kindergarten through sixth grades earned the honor during a recent Morning Express program.
