The Oswego County Health Department offers a variety of services to all residents of Oswego County, including preventive health services, certified home health care, long-term home health care, certified hospice, and a maternal and child health program.
Oswego Health will host a Certified Nurse Aide job fair from noon until 6 p.m. October 8 at The Manor at Seneca Hill, located at 20 Manor Drive. Candidates will have the opportunity to learn about the specific duties from CNAs already on the job, as well as take part in onsite interviews.
Route 20 is the longest road in the United States starting in Kenmore Square in Boston, Massachusetts, and ending in Newport, Oregon. It is 3,365 miles from coast to coast. Each state, working alone and in conjunction with adjoining states, is trying to promote the road to the benefit of all the towns, villages, accommodations, restaurants and tourist attractions along the way. What they need is a TV show and a song similar to the one about Route 66.
As of last week all four lanes and both sidewalks of Fulton’s Broadway Bridge, carrying State Route 3 over the Oswego River, were open.
The city of Fulton police sergeant accused of assaulting a man in custody pleaded guilty in federal court on Wednesday (Sept. 24).
Frieda L. Vasho, 91, of Fulton, passed into eternal life on Thursday September 25, 2014, at St. Luke Health Services, Oswego.
Denise L. Hubbard, 60, of Sterling, died Monday September 22, 2014, in Oswego Hospital.
The Common Council approved the purchase of an existing sanitary force main on Byer Road and further approved transfer of funds from the Contingent Account to the Department of Public Works to pay for same. The existing main is owned by Edward Gustafson. He agreed to sell it to the city for not more than $4,000. City officials said the cost will be recovered in a few years from fees and taxes on the new home as well as from any future development in the area.
Principal Gregory Molloy, who greeted students and parents as they entered the building, said the event allows parents to see what their students will be learning and get a feel for what their children experience every day. “It’s a great opportunity to start building an educational partnership between the school and parents,” he said.
