Newly established Girls Scout Troop #361 visits Paws Across Oswego County
Girl Scout Troop #361 is a newly formed and community based troop. The girls are very excited to get out into the community and learn many ways to give back. The troop recently visited Paws and Effect, which is the establishment where Paws Across Oswego County is based out of.
Program brings together students, families and SUNY Oswego mentors
SUNY Oswego’s Mentor-Scholar Program greeted more than 180 guests at its fourth annual Community Dinner on Oct. 22 at Oswego Middle School. Mentor-Scholar is a collaborative effort between the Oswego City School District, Fulton City School District and SUNY Oswego that provides local middle and high school students with the academic and social support of college mentors throughout the academic year.
Phoenix Marching Band takes home state championship
Hard work and commitment paid off for the Phoenix Central School District Marching Band, which took home the state title during the season finale competition recently at the Carrier Dome. Under the direction of Nick Gerling, assistant director Michelle Rudy and a talented staff, the band competed against eight other teams in the Small Schools 2 Class.

Mary B. Smith, 92, a resident of Oswego passed away peacefully on Thursday October 30, 2014, at the Seneca Hill Manor.

Health Department Announces Clinic Schedule for Week of Nov. 3
The Oswego County Health Department is offering influenza immunization clinics for people age 19 and older weekdays at the Nick Sterio Public Health Clinic, 70 Bunner St., Oswego.
Sunrise Rotary Supports Fulton Youth Hockey
At a recent Fulton Sunrise Rotary meeting, Jeff Schremp of Fulton Youth Hockey, accepted a donation from Rotarian Doug Stevens on behalf of the club. Jeff spoke about the program which runs from Oct 1 through March 15 and is staffed entirely by volunteers.
Christmas Oswego Community Youth Orchestra Breakfast Buffet Benefit Scheduled
Tickets are now available for the Lake City Masonic Lodge No. 127 and Lake City Victoria Order of the Eastern Star No. 205 all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet benefit and raffle for the Oswego Community Youth Orchestra. The breakfast will be December 21 from 8 a.m. – noon at Lake City Lodge No. 127, 765 E. Seneca St., Oswego.
Public Skate set at Haldane Arena in Pulaski
Salmon River Hockey and Figure Skating hosts public skate every Friday and Saturday from 7:15 to 9:15 p.m. The doors will not open until 6:45 p.m. Friday and Saturday public skate will run until March 14, 2015.
