Phoenix Finally Fixes Water Woes

Concern over smelly brown drinking water flowing from the taps of village homes and businesses has the community at odds but Phoenix leaders have finally charted a clear direction to address contamination at its wells, and perhaps finally cure the water’s dirty cast.
During its Oct. 21 meeting, Village Trustees decided to move forward with a plan to contract with the Metropolitan Water Board – the administrative arm of the Onondaga County Water District – for a clean drinking water supply for village of Phoenix residents and businesses.

Leighton School Students Visit Shineman Center at SUNY Oswego

Fifth grade students from Leighton Elementary School were recently invited by professors at the Richard S. Shineman Center for Science, Engineering and Innovation at SUNY Oswego, for a field trip and demonstrations specific to their classroom science curriculum. Dr. Kestas Bendinskas, editor of The American Journal of Undergraduate Research, conducted demonstrations with chemical reactions that captivated the students.

If it’s not poinsettias to worry about (which it is not) then it’s mistletoe (which it is) or chocolate, or grapes or tinsel (yes to all). But you can just go online to any reputable animal welfare site, we like the ASPCA, and read all those depressing and dire warnings. We’re not saying you shouldn’t read up about them. We’re just saying, let’s have fun instead!
