Reclassed Incidents Leave Fulton School ‘Potentially Dangerous’

School violence that went unreported or misclassified at Fulton Junior High School as revealed by a New York State Comptroller’s audit has classed the district’s only middle school as a potentially persistently dangerous school.

“The risk that schools with unsafe learning environments will not be identified as such raises concerns that school problems will continue unaddressed, parents will not be notified of school choice option, and the learning environment will suffer,” the comptroller’s report Compliance With the Safe Schools Against Violence in Education Act stated.

With it come the hazards of winter storms and biting cold that are not only uncomfortable and inconvenient, but can be life-threatening. The Oswego State women’s ice hockey team extended its win streak to nine games with a 2-1 win over Chatham University on Saturday afternoon in the Marano Campus Center Arena. Oswego’s nine-consecutive victories is the longest streak for the Lakers since the program was brought back during the 2006-07 season.

Over the span of five days, more than a dozen different witnesses in the groundbreaking Heidi Allen hearing shared testimony that could give her convicted kidnapper, Gary Thibodeau, a new trial. Thibodeau was convicted in 1995 for kidnapping Allen from a convenience store in New Haven where she was working Easter morning, 1994.
