The Center for Instruction Technology and Innovation’s Career and Technical Education department recently sponsored a canned food drive to make Christmas baskets for families in need. Individual classes were told that the most “giving” class would win a pizza party.
With a new year comes new commitments and renewed hope. Last week, the Assembly welcomed new representatives. The swearing-in ceremony reminds all who attend to renew our commitment to public service. As we await the Governor’s State of the State address, I hope our state will turn its focus on improving the economy, investing in infrastructure and work toward improving education.
Troopers responded to the residence at 11:05 p.m. Sunday for a report of a structure fire with possible entrapment. When troopers arrived at the residence, the house was fully engulfed in flames and were met by Lisa A. Carr, who stated her 4-year-old son, Randy L. Halsdorf, was unaccounted for and possibly trapped in a back bedroom.
At a recent Sunrise Rotary meeting, Anna McNamara, public health educator from Oswego County Health Department, was introduced by Rotarian Linda Eagan. Anna had a video presentation representing many facets of what to do and how to do it in various emergency situations.

Each year, with the help of caring businesses, organizations and community members, Oswego County Opportunities’ Nutrition Services prepares and distributes hundreds of ‘Blizzard Bags’ to home delivered clients throughout Oswego County.
Applications are currently being accepted for summer jobs at Camp Hollis. Camp Hollis is a children’s residential camp owned by Oswego County and operated by the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau. Most jobs require residency at Camp Hollis from Sunday evening through Friday evening each week, with weekends off.
