Make It A Maple Weekend
On March 21 – 22 and 28 – 29, more than 160 maple producers across New York State will open their sugar houses for “Maple Weekend.” Maple Weekends are chock full of events, everything from tours, pancake breakfasts, free samples and more, aimed at showing people just how maple syrup and maple products make their way from “tree to table.”
Reehil Presents ‘Adirondack French Louie’ Program April 8 in Parish
Author and historian Roy Reehil will present a program about the life of the legendary Adirondack hermit, Louie “French Louie” Seymour, at 7 p.m. April 8 at the Parish Town Hall, 2938 E. Main St. The program is hosted by the Parish Historical Society and is free and open to the public.

Get Your Tickets Now for the Giant Chocolate Rabbit Drawing
Man in the Moon Candies is donating a three-foot tall, 20-pound milk chocolate rabbit to benefit the Oswego International War of 1812 Symposium. Tickets are $2 each or three for $5. The drawing takes place April 4. Tickets are available at Man in the Moon Candies, 203 W. First St. and at the museum shop inside the old stone fort at Fort Ontario State Historic Site, 1 E. Fourth St., Oswego.
Friends Establish Scholarship In Memory Of Oswego’s Sherwood Dunham
“He was just a class-act guy,” said Emeritus Professor Harry Nash, Ph.D., Dunham’s friend for 52 years. “In all the years that I’ve known him, I’ve never heard anyone say an unkind word about him. He was the kind of guy who was never too busy to have a conversation with a friend. He set a good example for anyone who wanted to become an educator.”
Lanigan Students Graduate From D.A.R.E Program
Students involved in the school’s Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E) program were recently honored with a graduation ceremony, proving they have learned the value in saying no to drugs and violence.
