For more than 150 years Grace Lutheran Church in Oswego has been much more than a place of worship. Its spacious halls have hosted countless parish and community events. From craft shows and bake sales to dinners and parties. Having recently concluded an extensive remodeling project Grace Lutheran Church has been literally refurbished from top to bottom.
Oswego Children’s Theater will host auditions for its annual teen production on January 26 from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m. at the home of the Mosher family located at 151 E. Seneca St. Auditions are open to all area youth aged 13 through 19 years of age.

At Tuesday night’s meeting of the Planning and Development Committee, City Attorney Kevin Caraccioli proposed modification to the charter with respect to city officers and employees and the residency requirements for such officers and employees. The modification would which authorize the mayor to waive the residency requirements. However, the committee proposed abolishing the requirement. A public hearing will be held next month.
Jeffery Gorton, 76, of Fulton, passed away Saturday January 16, 2016, at Oswego Hospital.
The Oswego State men’s basketball team avenged last week’s home loss to Brockport by handing the Golden Eagles a 10-point loss, 84-74, on Tuesday night in Tuttle Gymnasium. With the victory, the Lakers improve to 10-4 overall and 3-4 in SUNYAC action.
