McDonalds Brought Winter Wonderland to Fulton Before Any Snow Fell

Contrary to the usual winter bliss that hits the area before the holidays, Fulton residents experienced an unfamiliar December with very little snowfall. However, the local McDonalds restaurant still brought the well-known winter wonderland to life at their 701 South Fourth Street location in Fulton. Each year, the Fulton McDonalds restaurant participates in a holiday decorating contest and for the second year in a row, they won the ever sought after first place Santa trophy.

MLK’s daughter, Grammy Winner To Mark King Celebration

SUNY Oswego’s Jan. 29 Martin Luther King Jr. celebration will feature Bernice A. King, daughter of Martin Luther King Jr. and chief executive of the King Center, and Grammy-winning gospel singer Smokie Norful. The college’s 27th annual celebration of the civil rights leader’s life and legacy will begin with Bernice King’s keynote talk at 6 p.m. in Sheldon Hall ballroom. Norful and a gospel choir will perform an 8 p.m. concert in the same location.

The evening is casual dress and free to attend for race teams and fans with a chance to hang out with friends who you haven’t seen since the end of the race season in October. Driver point fund and trophies will be dispersed. Door prizes, announcements and drink specials throughout the night.

Snowball! AKA: Oswego County Treasurer’s Office

A snowball gets bigger and bigger the more you roll it around in the snow. The county’s snowball started back when a county treasurer retired and appointed a successor. Now that in itself wouldn’t have been a problem, but the fact that the appointee may or may not have a high school diploma is questionable.
