Oswego McDonald’s Awards High School Diploma Through Its Archways To Opportunity Program
McDonald’s recently honored Floor Supervisor Ashley Preeman of Oswego following her completion of the High School Completion curriculum under McDonald’s Archways to Opportunity program. To date, Ashley is the first McDonald’s employee to complete the online set of courses and earn her diploma in the Philadelphia Region and fifth in the country.

SUNY Oswego Endowment Again Outperforms Industry Average
The SUNY Oswego College Foundation’s endowment recorded a rate of return that was nearly double that of its peers, according to the 2015 NACUBO-Commonfund Study of Endowments released in January. Oswego’s 4 percent rate of return in 2015 outpaced peers — colleges with endowments under $25 million — that had an average rate of 2.3 percent, and outperformed the overall industry average of 2.4 percent, according to the report.
Winona Forest Hosts Skiing, Snowshoe and Fat Bike Events Feb. 20, Feb. 27 and March 5
Now in its 36th year, the Winona Forest Recreation Association will host the annual Winona Forest Tourathon on Feb. 20. The competitive and recreational cross-country ski event is the first of three consecutive winter recreation events at the sprawling 9,000-acre state forest in northern Oswego and southern Jefferson counties.
