SUNY Oswego Metro Center will host a comprehensive information session from 3 to 6 p.m. June 16, for students interested in completing a degree at the college’s downtown Syracuse location — and for students or parents interested in any Oswego program. Admission is free, and light refreshments will be served.
Several members of the Oswego Fire Department attended a ceremony honoring the 71st graduating class of the Recruit Firefighter Training program. Firefighters from all over New York State attend this rigorous and physically demanding 11-week program designed to prepare them for entering a career in the fire service.

Instead she is a friendly and pretty young lady who loves belly rubs and lounging around nice and safe in her foster home. She is getting used to the other cats and dogs in her foster home, but she wants a nice safe home of her own.
Oswego High School seniors learned a new skill as part of their academic curriculum. NBT Bank’s Oswego West Branch Manager Barbara Bateman visited the seniors’ classrooms to teach the students real-life scenarios focused on credit management and the effects of different spending habits.
The H. Lee White Maritime Museum’s “Waterfront Open House” being held in the Historic Maritime District on May 21 from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m., has added several new activities. The first is “man overboard” demonstrations conducted by the U.S. Coast Guard Oswego Station.
SUNY Oswego’s theater department invites community children and adults to audition Aug. 23, in Hewitt Union’s lab theater for roles as Munchkins and dancers in the fall production of “The Wizard of Oz.” Director Jonel Langenfeld of the college’s theater faculty will lead auditions.
Plans are under way for one of the area’s most anticipated and largest golf tournaments, the United Way of Greater Oswego County’s Annual Golf Tournament. To be held July 11, the United Way Annual Golf Tournament will once again be hosted by one of Central New York’s most prestigious private golf courses, the Oswego County Club.
