Quirk’s Players of G. Ray Bodley High School is proud to announce that it will present the fast-paced comedy Unnecessary Farce this fall. Performances are scheduled for October 20, 21 22 in the Bodley High School auditorium. Curtain time is set for 7:30 p.m. each performance.
The Oswego Sunrise Rotary Club recently welcomed Patrick Dewine, executive director of the United Way of Greater Oswego County. Dewine discussed the United Way’s role as a reputable and reliable steward of charitable giving.
Teaming with Partners for Education and Business, Inc., and The Manufacturers Association of Central New York, Fulton will open its doors to 100 high school and college students and engage them in learning the many benefits and opportunities of manufacturing careers. The lives of some of the refugees living in the Fort Ontario Emergency Refugee Shelter are brought to the stage in Rick Sivers’ new drama, “Dawn of Freedom,” produced in conjunction with the Safe Haven Holocaust Refugee Museum and the Oswego Players.

At Monday night’s Common Council meeting, the mayor’s proposed rental fee permit hike was approved, 5-1-1. Council president Shawn Walker cast the lone nay vote and Councilor Robert Corradino abstained. It will help hold landlords accountable and pressure them into maintaining their property, the mayor said.
Muriel Balcom Keeney, passed away peacefully on Sunday September 25, 2016, at the age of 92, surrounded by her loving family.
