Oswego County’s tourism industry set new records for economic impact, direct spending and tourism employment in 2016, County Legislator Roy Reehil, chairman of the County Legislature’s Economic Development and Planning Committee, announced. “From 2015–16, visitor spending in Oswego County increased 6.8 percent to $146,013,000, with tourism employment growing 8.5 percent,” said Legislator Reehil.
Coming into Saturday night Jimmy Phelps sat third in points and he knew he had to take matters into his own hands to have a shot at the Tracey Road Equipment Modified Track Championship on Saturday, September 2. The Oswego City School District announced today changes to its school lunch pricing for the upcoming 2017-18 school year. Pending board of education approval, the price of elementary, middle and high school lunches will increase by 10 cents each, effective September 6.

Beginning September 6, OHS buses will be loaded and unloaded in the parking lot east of the high school between OHS and Liberty Street. In previous years buses were loaded and unloaded on Buccaneer Boulevard.

Weather permitting, the Oswego County Health Department plans to conduct aerial spraying of approximately 10,000 acres in portions of the towns of Hastings, Constantia, and West Monroe Monday evening, Aug. 28. Pesticide will not be applied over the open waters of Oneida Lake. The aerial spray will begin after 6 p.m.
