Billy Whittaker Class Of Fulton Speedway Modified Field; Tim Sears Jr. Wins Championship By Inches

The closest modified track championship at the Fulton Speedway anyone can remember went down Saturday night when Tim Sears, Jr. won his first ever Tracey Road Equipment Big Block Modified Track Championship by inches at the finish over Jimmy Phelps. In the 35-lap feature Billy Whittaker took the lead on 17 and outran a strong field of 28 cars for his first win of the season and fifth place finish in the final points.

SUNY Oswego Planetarium To Explore ‘Weird Close Lives of Binary Stars’

The SUNY Oswego planetarium will explore “The Weird Close Lives of Binary Stars” at 7 p.m. each Sunday during September. “Half of the stars you see at night are actually unresolved binary stars, with two stars orbiting each other,” explained Dr. Scott Roby, director of the college’s planetarium and an associate professor of physics.

Lichty Scores Dominant Win in 24th ISMA Supernationals at Oswego Speedway

Mike Lichty brought home the second ISMA Supernationals win of his Supermodified career Saturday night at Oswego Speedway, driving the Reed’s Salvage, Patco Transportation No. 84 to victory lane in the 24th running of the event on Budweiser Classic Weekend at the ‘Steel Palace.’ Lichty started on the outside pole, passed polesitter Chris Perley on the outside on lap 1 and never looked back, earning the fifth Oswego checkered flag of his career and the first since May of 2016.
