Sandra Scott Travels: Exploring Frank Lloyd Wright’s Architecture

I have to admit I have never been a fan of Frank Lloyd Wright’s architecture. I guess it is too organic and modern. However, I do like how Taliesin West blends in with the environment. Personally, I prefer more traditional, classic architecture but our guide at Taliesin West, Lola, did a better job of explaining the concept of Wright’s architecture than any of the guides we had at other Wright’s houses we have toured. We have visited the Darwin D. Martin House in Buffalo, Graycliff south of Buffalo (with a beautiful location on the lake), and Falling Water in Pennsylvania.

EJ Dillon Students Earn Honors At Scholastic Art Show

Seven Emerson J. Dillon Middle School students represented the Phoenix Central School District and earned honors during this year’s Scholastic Art Show. Alaina Hubbell earned a Silver Key for her submission. Honorable mention award-winners included eighth graders Bethany Hook, Jalyn Henry, Kylie Russo, Alissa Bova, Johnathan Dion and Mary Crandall.

Lighthouse Lanes SBS Series Piecing Together 2018 Events

Already penciled in, the Small Block Supermodifieds will return to the Evans Mills Speedway in the North Country for the second Annual Lighthouse Lanes SBS Series ‘Fall Brawl 50’ set to take place on September 16. The decision by Evans Mills to race on Saturday nights this season will not affect this event.
