Students on Robyn Yorker’s Blue Team at the Oswego County BOCES’ Stepping Stones Day Program traded their ‘tricks’ and ‘treats’ in this Halloween for an opportunity to raise money for UNICEF (The United Nations Children’s Fund).

The students have been busy studying about Librarians around the world and learned that not all children in the world have access to everyday things like books.
As an extension of this learning, the students were introduced to the work of UNICEF and its global mission to ensure that humans’ basic needs like housing, food and clean water are met.
The class decided to join UNICEF’s mission and set a fundraising goal of $100 to help kids in underprivileged countries.
Thanks to the generosity of staff and students the students exceeded their goal and collected a total of $102 for UNICEF.
Speaking on behalf of her students, Exceptional Education Teacher Robyn Yorker said, “The Blue Team is happy to know the money they raised will be going to a good cause and that kids really can make a difference.”
