Assemblyman Barclay challenges school-age children to read for 15 minutes a day for 40 days throughout the summer months, with an adult or on their own. This year more than 100 kids participated in the reading challenge.

Callahan, Flanagan and Smith Orthodontics in Fulton made a very generous donation to Emily Bradshaw recently. They presented here with toothbrushes and toothpaste for the homeless. Other area dentists have done the same.
The 21st annual 5K SEFA/United Way Walk-A-Thon will be held on Oct. 13 at 1 p.m. on the SUNY Oswego campus. Registration starts at noon outside of Lanigan Hall. The donation fee is $5 per person.
