Camp Hollis is looking for volunteers to help close up the campgrounds for the season on Saturday, Oct. 30. From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. staff and volunteers will work on a variety of projects, including cleaning and closing the cabins, storing playground and sports equipment, putting gardens “to bed” for the winter and storing indoor games and supplies.
Some area residents share their tips. Many are as simple as just unplugging an appliance when not in use. Other means to keep on a budget can be found online.
The morning was crisp and there were several large dark clouds in the sky. That did not diminish the excitement and anticipation felt by Carol Wilcox and her sister Mary about this long awaited day. On Saturday, October 2nd, the Lowe’s team was coming to Fulton to build a ramp for the Wilcox Family as their Heroes Project.
The Hannibal Democratic Committee is holding a roast turkey dinner on Sunday October 24th at the Hannibal American Legion on Rochester Street in Hannibal.
