SUNY Oswego Guitar Symposium To Offer Concerts, Workshops

</p>SUNY Oswego's Guitar Symposium, Nov. 8 and 9 at the lakeside campus, will feature concerts and intimate workshops with top genre guitarists. Headliners include Jeff Linsky, whom the Los Angeles Times called "the finest finger-style guitarist you will ever see or hear." For more information, visit www.oswego.edu/guitar.

The Guitar Symposium will incorporate classical finger style, funk, fusion and traditional, Brazilian and gypsy jazz into its workshops, master classes and performances. Artists doubling as instructors will include Jeff Linksy, Oz Noy, Peter Bernstein and Frank Vignola. The symposium will feature a concert by the Brasil Guitar Duo.

Fall Resolutions Keep TOPS Goals in Mind

Fall can be the perfect time of year to make a resolution or renew an old one.  The season is changing.  Kids go back to school, signaling a return to normalcy for families.  Autumn is the perfect opportunity to jump start a resolution that might have fallen by the wayside since January.  TOPS Club, Inc. (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) has many local chapters to help.

Half-Shire Historical Society: October 3, 2008

At long last the planned renovations and replacement of the second story fascia of our Richland headquarters has been completed!   The work was done in less then a week by Basciani Construction and looks terrific.  The Bascianis also did some additional masonry work while we had the hydraulic lift rented (rental courtesy of members Phil & Rita Rombach).   This work and a little additional upkeep to the chimney complete our planned capital projects for the year.

Former Oswego Man Pleads Guilty In Scheme At University Hospital

Dennis Clavelli and Scott Rivenburgh pleaded guilty to grand larceny in the third degree (class D felony) for their roles in an alleged conspiracy to steal more than $118,000 from SUNY Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse. Clavelli, 48, formerly of Oswego, was a manager in the hospital’s Clinical Engineering Department.

Transfinder Software Increases Efficiency of APW Transportation

With newly restructured routes, added bus runs and concerns for time spent on buses, the APW District is putting the new Transfinder software to the test. During a demonstration of the new program to the APW BOE recently, Stewart Brown, Supervisor of Transportation showed how he created new routes for the district using the software.
