The accolades continue to roll in for a pair of life-saving Oswego teens. On Tuesday, they received one of the highest honors New York State can bestow on a civilian – the New York State Senate Liberty Medal. State Senator Patty Ritchie presented the prestigious medal to Julia and Michele Lavery.

The city’s billing database for water and sewer users is in need of review, the chamberlain said. It’s been in place since 2003. “There is a lot that’s happened to the database since 2003 and we want to make sure we get it accurate going forward,” she said.

The ranks of Oswego County’s Youth Court swelled by two dozen recently. Youth Court is a recognized community diversion program aimed at keeping young offenders out of Family Court.

The victim was initially treated at Oswego Hospital and later transferred to University Hospital in Syracuse with non–life threatening injuries, police said.
