Tobacco Free Network of CNY Releases Tobacco Data for Oswego County

On June 9, the Tobacco Free Network of CNY released new tobacco data for Oswego County. Biennially, an independent organization conducts a Community Tobacco Survey of adults residing within the three counties that TFN provides services within; Cayuga, Onondaga, and Oswego. Completed surveys are then analyzed for conclusions and used to guide future programming efforts.

Bodley Names Valedictorian, Salutatorian

One hundred percent effort, all of the time. That’s what G. Ray Bodley High School valedictorian Aryelle Barbagallo and salutatorian Megan Nicholson said earned them overall weighted grade point averages of 101.37 and 100.77, respectively. The pair said discipline, hard work, the drive to succeed and a healthy support system all contributed to them being named the top two Class of 2017 students.

Birdlebough Students Receive Top 2 Honors

Alexa Uttamsingh and Brian Breen are humbled to represent the John C. Birdlebough High School Class of 2017 as valedictorian and salutatorian, respectively. While natural academic, musical and social talents helped carry the pair to the top of their class, both Uttamsingh and Breen said it really was all about hard work and dedication.

The Migrant Education Tutorial and Support Services Program students, community supporters and families were recently honored as abra caminos. Translated as “path openers,” METS Director Paul Gugel said the affectionate term perfectly described honorees at the recent METS’ annual graduation and recognition dinner because they pushed themselves to set and exceed goals.
