Twenty-two APW Students Selected For All County Chorus
The Altmar-Parish-Williamstown School District will be well represented at the Oswego County Music Educators’ Association All-County Choral Music Festival this year. Twenty-two students were selected to participate in this year’s festival on April 7 and 8 hosted by the Fulton City School District.
Classes To Help Improve Balance, Prevent Falls Starts April 24
“Stepping On,” a workshop designed to help participants improve their balance and avoid falls is now accepting registrations. “Stepping On” is an evidence-based program proven to reduce falls in older adults. The workshop will be presented for two hours, once a week, for seven weeks at Bishop’s Commons in Oswego.
OCAY League Competition Tests Students’ Engineering Skills
Dozens of local students displayed their knowledge and demonstrated their engineering skills recently during the third Oswego County Academic Youth League challenge of the school year. The competition, dubbed “Build, Build, Build,” required students to work together to accomplish a variety of engineering tasks.
Kindergarten Preregistration at APW School District
Children entering kindergarten in September 2017 must be five years of age on or before December 1, 2017, but parents may wait until the child is six years of age to register their child in school.
Sandy Creek’s CoRE Team Heads To VEX World Competition
For the second year in a row, the CoRE (Comet Robotics Engineers) Robotics team from Sandy Creek Middle/Senior High School will be headed to Louisville, Kentucky, to the VEX Robotics World Competition, where teams from all over the globe will come together in the prestigious competition.

Fulton Seventh Graders Visit CCC For A Day
Fulton Junior High School seventh graders learned that it’s never too early to go to college. The students spent one day immersing themselves in the Cayuga Community College experience during a recent full-day visit to the Fulton campus.
Stepping Stones Raises More Than $1k for American Heart Association
For the annual Jump Rope for Heart fundraiser, students of the Stepping Stones Day Program collected funds for American Heart Association research, health promotion and community programming in honor of former Fulton City School District employee Michael Stewart who died after a heart attack in February.
