Davanna Chetney of Fulton, NY, and Tim Marks of Brownville, NY, were united in marriage on June 8, 2013, at Timberbanks Golf Country Club in Baldwinsville, NY. The bride was escorted by her brother, Terry LaBreck. Her sister, Renatta Chetney, from Fulton was her Maid of honor. Tim was joined by his friend and Bestman Pat Devine of Dexter, NY.
The Oswego Children’s Theater is Looking for a Few Good Whos for “Seussical.” The Oswego Children’s Theater is looking for additional aspiring young actors to fill out the cast, of its next production “Seussical the Musical.” Participation in this production is open to all area children and youth.
Alexander Tulowiecki from Hastings was named to the spring 2013 Dean’s List at Wake Forest University. Students who achieve a 3.4 and no grade below a C were named to the list.
Oswego Health will hold multi-blood analysis events in both Oswego and Central Square later this year. The Oswego blood analysis will be held from 6:30 to 10 a.m. August 3 at Leighton Elementary School, located at 1 Buccaneer Blvd. The Central Square event will be held from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. September 14 at the Central Square Medical Center, located at 3045 East Ave. in the village.
Paddlers and spectators have a chance to win a new Perception Prodigy 12 kayak valued at $700 at the Oswego “Rock the Locks” Paddlefest on June 29. The 12-foot Prodigy weighs 53 pounds and is designed for user-friendly comfort with a water-tight storage compartment to carry gear.
The New York State Department of Transportation will hold an open house meeting on June 26 regarding a culvert replacement project on routes 3 and 104 over Black Creek in the village of Mexico. The open house will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Mexico High School library. Preliminary drawings for the upcoming project will be available for review. No formal presentation is planned.
On behalf of the Oswego City School District Music Department, I would like to thank the Oswego High School Class of 1962 for its most generous monetary donation. We will take a little time to decide how to use the money as we want to purchase something that will benefit the students of the entire music department.
Some of the most famous and influential people in United States history gathered in one place last week, Lanigan Elementary School in the Fulton City School District. The gathering was a “Biography Bonanza,” featuring students in the school’s second grade classes.
