Soldiers and family members of the New York Army National Guard’s 105th Military Police Company will gather for their unit’s “Freedom Salute” at the National Guard Armory on Connecticut Street this weekend following their return from Iraq.
APW Middle School student Drake Brosnan was named the 2012 APW Respect Week Locker Decorating Contest Winner. The contest was the culmination of a week-long initiative at the school to promote positivity and empower students to make a difference.

The cases involved attempts by people to collect benefits while living in other states, filing for duplicate benefits, not reporting income and attempting to collect benefits while incarcerated in a correctional facility. In addition, 8 people were arrested over the past few weeks and charged with welfare fraud and grand larceny.

The Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor Commission will welcome five new commissioners at a swearing ceremony at its meeting on April 25. Among them is Jonathan T. Daniels, Executive Director of the Port of Oswego Authority.
