Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oswego County is pleased to once again offer basket weaving at the Amboy 4-H Environmental Education Center. On August 19 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Linda Scherz Allen will lead a hands-on workshop in miniature basket weaving as part of the center’s Nature Inspires series.
The Open Doors Neighborhood Center is sponsoring Fulton Idol for ages 10 through 15. Individuals and groups may participate. This is a singing event. The dates are August 1-5, from 6 to 8:30 p.m.
Thanks to many generous donations from all over Oswego and surrounding counties, the Oswego County 4-H Program will fill the Believers Chapel in Mexico on July 23 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Everything is priced to sell.
In an effort to address this issue, the CAC is collaborating with Huntington Family Centers to implement an evidence based treatment curriculum aimed at children age 7 through 12 with problematic sexual behavior issues.
The Minetto United Methodist Church will host a free dinner on July 24, serving from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The menu will be hamburgers, hot dogs, macaroni salad, and potato chips. Donations are not expected but will be accepted.
The Oswego City Band presents “Melodies and Movies” at Breitbeck Park on July 20. The ensemble will be performing a wide variety of styles appropriate for all ages and musical tastes.
Oswego County Sheriff Reuel A. Todd announced that 18 children from the county are attending the New York State Sheriffs’ Association Institute’s 2016 Summer Camp. The Sheriffs’ Summer Camp is designed to provide a solid recreational program combined with the development of a sense of good citizenship.
