Looking to bridge the communication gap between local businesses and hearing or speech-impaired customers, Tammy Seymour, a BOCES teacher of the deaf for 27 years, launched the project in December 2011 with four of her students at Mexico High School.
On October 1, Oswego firefighters accepted banners donated to the Oswego Firefighters Association showing their support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Between the hours of 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Saturday, OFD will be hosting the public of all ages for tours, demonstrations, face painting for the kids, refreshments and fun for all.

Several Oswego High School students donated blood for the very first time at the Red Cross Bloodmobile which was held today (Oct. 3).
Now in its ninth year at SUNY Oswego, the project is part of an annual statewide community-service project by Student-Athlete Advisory Council chapters at all 11 SUNY Athletic Conference colleges. SAAC’s mission is to generate a student-athlete voice among Oswego’s intercollegiate teams and to enhance school spirit within athletics.
