Magic of Reading Kicks Off Leighton Read-a-thon

The “Magic of Reading” kicked off the annual Frederick Leighton Elementary School Read-a-Thon recently. The annual event will be conducted from Oct. 1-10 as students are asked to read at least 240 minutes during that time for an average of 24 minutes a day.

Fulton City School District Plans Collaboration Day

On September 28, the students within the Fulton City School District in grades UPK – 12 will have an early dismissal. Grades 7 – 12 will dismiss at 10:30 a.m. and morning Pre K – 6 will dismiss at 11:15 a.m. There will be no afternoon Pre-K classes.

Youth Bureau Announces Funding Opportunities for 2013

The Oswego City-County Youth Bureau anticipates having limited funding available for youth development programs in 2013. Not-for-profit organizations have until Nov. 9 to apply for grant funds through the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau and the New York State Office of Children and Family Services.
