Running on a course approximately one-mile long, the meet took participants across the field and into the woods to run a portion of the race on the Granby nature trail located behind the elementary school building, before ending near the playground at the school.

If you are concerned about the safety and installation of your child’s car seat, please come to the the free Safety Seat Check to be held at the Cody Volunteer Fire Department on Oct. 14 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.

On October 26 the CYO will host a Family Halloween Party from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. There will be a variety of games and activities. Later that evening from 7 to 9 there will be a Halloween Dance and Costume Contest for students in grades 7 – 12.

State Senator Patty Ritchie’s traveling exhibit of Hometown Heroes from Central New York and Northern New York who were awarded the Medal of Honor for their service in America’s armed forces is going on display at the Half-Shire Historical Society, 1100 County Route 48 in Richland Hamlet.

For those interested in expanding or starting a small business in Oswego County, the next Micro-Enterprise Program small business training class is scheduled to begin November 6 and run Tuesdays and Thursdays through November 27.

The fall foliage is finally here and so is the fine poetry of fall. The latter will be on display Sunday at the Sterling Nature Center’s Sunday Poetry Coffee House featuring award winning poet and writer Christine Motto from 3-5 p.m.

On October 26 and 27 –  Quirk’s Players will present The Laramie Project in the G. Ray Bodley High School Auditorium, #6 William Gillard Drive, Fulton. Curtain – 7:30 p.m.

Patrons are encouraged to dress appropriately for cooler weather conditions and wear sensible footwear.  Regular admission will be charged, but free hot coffee, tea, and hot chocolate will be available for hardy visitors.
