Granby’s Got Talent

Sixth grade students at Granby Elementary School put their talents on display for the entire school during a recent talent show assembly. Organized by Granby Music Teacher Stephany Collins, the acts were far from just musically oriented and featured nearly 20 performances. Highlights included a comedy act, a magic show, dancing, math and science acts, along with several singing performances. Ritchie: Bill Eases Jail Crowding

Pathfinder Bank Supports Oswego Firefighters’ Drive For A Cure

The Oswego City Firefighters’ Association will hold its fourth annual golf tournament to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association. The tournament is a four-man captain and crew and will be held at the Tamarack Golf Club on July 10 at 9 a.m.

Oaks Supports Hydrogen Fuel-Cell Vehicles

Assemblyman Bob Oaks (R-C Macedon) checks out a prototype hydrogen fuel-cell vehicle -- which he later got to drive -- on display outside the Capitol earlier this month.  Four different car companies demonstrated their vehicles.  The companies are seeking $50 million in state aid to help develop the hydrogen fueling infrastructure during the next five years in New York State to go along with $165 million of federal support To help further develop the technology and hopefully start manufacturing in New York State.  General Motors' fuel cell research is being done at their Honeoye Falls facility south of Rochester. Advocates say engines powered by hydrogen fuel-cells are twice as efficient as those powered by gasoline.Assemblyman Bob Oaks (R-C Macedon) checks out a prototype hydrogen fuel-cell vehicle — which he later got to drive — on display outside the Capitol earlier this month.
