Parents of teenagers approaching 17 and 18 years of age may be thinking about college, job prospects, and other post-high school adventures. But for parents of a teen with an intellectual or developmental disability, exploring the possibility of establishing legal guardianship should be a top priority.

Cale Schorer has been awarded an Allstate Hero Award by the Allstate Insurance Company and he donated the $500 award to the Fulton YMCA Day Camp, according to Betty Fadden, Executive Director of the Fulton Y.

Linde North America has begun production at one of its newest plants, which makes carbon dioxide (CO2) from ethanol in Fulton, New York.

The college, with assistance from NYSERDA and other government agencies, offers the first Energy and Sustainability Institute for Elementary Teachers — 18 from Oswego city schools — Aug. 9 to 13 at Rice Creek Field Station.

At a recent Fulton Sunrise Rotary meeting Rotarian Sharon Foster introduced Art Thomas who told us about Shirts & Skirts, the square dancing group that meets every Friday from 7 – 9 PM at Fulton Municipal Building.

The Nurture & Care Committee of the Minetto United Methodist Church will host a freewill dinner on Sunday, August 22, serving from 4:30 to 6:30 P.M. The menu will be pulled pork sandwiches, macaroni salad, and dessert. Donations are not expected but will be accepted.

The Hannibal Music Boosters will operate a dunk tank booth at the Hannibal Firemen’s Field Days beginning Thursday.

The organization has lined up several local celebrities and officials to volunteer to be dunked to help raise money for the school music program.
