Gabriella Voo, SUNY Oswego Fulbright visiting scholar from the University of Pecs, Hungary, plans to write a book on "Moby Dick" author Herman Melville and other 19th century American novelists and poets during her stay here. SUNY Oswego Fulbright Visiting Scholar Gabriella Voo, a Hungarian professor born and raised in Romania, has embraced America since she was an undergraduate in Budapest.

Hannibal Students at Fairley Elementary Read for Haiti

Mrs. DePoint, a Fourth Grade teacher, recently organized a fundraiser for Haiti. The students asked for family and friends to pledge money for the amount of pages they read in class during one week. This group of 37 students raised over $700 for the Red Cross Haiti Relief and Development Fund. “Pay It Forward” is the theme for Fairley School this year and this fundraiser was a great representation of that for the students.The students asked for family and friends to pledge money for the amount of pages they read in class during one week.

SUNY Oswego’s Adopt-a-School Project Shows Varied Lessons Through Arts

A fourth-grade student at Kingsford Park Elementary works on a drawing for an exhibition opening in SUNY Oswego's Tyler Art Gallery later this month. Members of the college community are working with 68 elementary-school students at Kingsford Park in the first Adopt-a-School partnership by Oswego's School of Communication, Media and the Arts. Fourth-grade students in Oswego’s Kingsford Park Elementary are learning about art, community history and other subjects in the first Adopt-a-School partnership for SUNY Oswego’s School of Communication, Media and the Arts.
