The Oswego High School boys’ varsity volleyball team honored its seniors Oct. 26 with a ceremony prior to their match against Liverpool. Once the match began, the Bucs took control and earned a win on senior night.

The members of SUNY Oswego chapter of Vega — the women’s honor society for juniors and seniors — which sponsors the safe-Halloween events in cooperation with the Office of Residence Life and Housing, said they feel awful, knowing the community looks forward to the event every year.
The students were selected for the honor by their classroom teacher who observed them on many occasions as being responsible leaders during school.
The Oswego Elks Lodge #271 will observe a Memorial Sunday service on December 3 at 1:30 p.m. in the Huckabee-Manor Hall of the Oswego Elks Lodge #271, 132 W. Fifth St., Oswego. The ceremony is open to the public.
The Oswego County Pioneer Search and Rescue Team will hold a pancake breakfast with all the fixings from 8 a.m. to noon Nov. 19 at the Lake City Masonic Lodge, 765 E. Seneca St., Oswego. The event is the team’s major fundraiser.
Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church will hold its annual Harvest Turkey Supper and Bazaar from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, October 28. Serving family style will be roast turkey and all the trimmings.
