This year marks the third growing season for the Peoples’ Produce Project in Mexico. The all-volunteer venture was launched in 2015 by staff members of the Oswego County Department of Social Services to help residents supplement their pantries with fresh local produce. The project has now caught the attention of state officials as well.

The Oswego County Legislature’s Public Safety Committee presented Diane Breen with a certificate of appreciation for her 20 years of service.
Members of Concinnity, the local select women’s vocal ensemble, believe that “In our changing climate, politically and otherwise, it is important for everyone to stand up for peace, justice and love.” They have chosen to make their voices heard by means of a concert entitled Visions of Hope.
The Pulaski Historical Society will present its first Fall evening program of this season on September 27 at 7 p.m. “Back to School…Again!” will feature a panel of former teachers and administrators who will recall their experiences of “good old school days” from their perspective as teachers.
In October, there will only be eight classes offered, as the Oswego Library’s Tech Lab will be closed from October 16 through November 3. The library will also be closed on October 9 for Columbus Day, so no classes will be offered then.
The Oswego County Transportation Coordination Committee is developing a Mobility Movement Plan for underserved areas of Oswego County and has begun to collect information about transportation needs in the Sandy Creek, Pulaski, Altmar-Parish-Williamstown and Mexico school districts.
The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation announced that the agency is holding the 21st Annual Salmon River Hatchery Open House and Family Day on September 23 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event celebrates the 35th National Hunting and Fishing Day.
The Minetto United Methodist Church will host a free dinner on September 24, serving from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The menu will be beef stew, oven roasted potatoes, vegetable, corn bread, and dessert.
The Fulton City School District is ready to help your 4-year-old embark on his or her educational journey within Fulton schools. While the 2017-18 school year has just begun, the district still has Universal Pre-Kindergarten slots available.
