St. Stephen’s Church, Oswego, will hold its annual Polish Festival August 13 on the church grounds, 140 Niagara St., from noon to 6 p.m. rain or shine.

Volunteers have been busy preparing the polish foods from scratch for the festival and they are taking presale orders for pierogi in 3 variety favorites.

The Fulton Rotary Club presented scholarships in honor of Sandy and Sylvia Squires to G. Ray Bodley High School graduates in the top 26 percent of their class who excelled in athletics.

The Center for Career and Community Education celebrated the successful completion of students enrolled in the Dental Assisting and Medical Assisting programs in a combined graduation ceremony.

CNY Arts Center announces a Saturday matinee performance of Bye Bye Birdie, its summer family musical, to be held August 12 at 3 p.m. The classic Broadway musical with a cast of more than 30 performers is performing at 11 River Glen Drive on the Cayuga College Campus.

The Mexico Academy & Central School District’s Learn to Swim program has made a splash with hundreds of participants this summer. From June 5 through Aug. 18, 500 eager swimmers will have attended one or more of the two-week sessions, which take place for 45 minutes Mondays to Fridays.

Residents at Morningstar Residential Care Center enjoyed a lively afternoon as they participated in Morningstar’s first Movin’ and Groovin’ session in the facility’s Great Room. Residents played a variety of percussion instruments and sang along to some of their favorite tunes.

Several area students have reserved places among 1,400 freshmen at SUNY Oswego. Fall 2017 classes will begin Aug. 28.

The Oswego Public Library, 120 E. Second St., will hold a used books, movies (VHS) and audiobooks sale on August 11 and 12. The hours will be from noon until 3 p.m. in the community room located on the lower level of the library.
