Nurses from St. Luke Health Services, Michaud Residential Health Services and Bishop’s Commons announce a new date for their popular community bone density screenings. The screenings will take place at the First United Methodist Church, 4372 Church St., in the village of Mexico on June 22 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The top 15 students in Sandy Creek Middle School’s eighth grade class were honored in a special luncheon held at the school by Principal Carolyn Shirley. The top students were determined by the cumulative average the students had achieved from sixth through eighth grade.
Senator Ritchie was elected a “Delegate-at-Large” of the group, which seeks to improve the participation of women in government, supporting issues affecting women across the state and providing a network of support for women serving in State Legislature.
The Fulton Youth Team Tennis League will start accepting registrations for players ages 13-19. Players are assigned to a team for six regular matches, a semi-final match and championships.T-shirts are provided for all participants and award will be presented to the First and Second place team members.

“We are here to honor excellence,” began Pulaski Middle School Principal Michael Bateson. “Leadership, good character, strong academics, perseverance, effort, and excellence.” The annual awards ceremony was held to honor students in grades 6-8 for their exemplary academics, character, and leadership qualities.
First grade students at Fairley Elementary recently captivated an audience full of family members and friends by showcasing the knowledge they’ve accumulated throughout the past school year.
Sandy Creek students came in second place at the Mock Trial Regional competition this year out of eight teams, losing only by one point. The team took first place in the county competition allowing them to continue on to regionals at Morrisville Community College. “It’s the farthest we’ve ever come in Mock Trial,” said adviser to the team, Ashley Haskins.
Many of the coaches from the 2014 Lady Buccaneer Softball Camp staff will return to instruct at this year’s camp that is slated to begin on June 29 at the OHS softball field.
