The Fairley Elementary School cafeteria was transformed into an Iroquois village Wednesday night as fourth-grade students showcased homemade longhouses, recipe books, a lacrosse stick and other aspects of Native American culture.

Air National Guard Airman Randy A. Gough graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oswego County is pleased to present two workshops on holiday wreath making. The first workshop will be held December 6 from 6 – 7:30 p.m. The second workshop will be December 7 from 9 – 10:30 a.m.

The State University of New York recently selected a painting by recent SUNY Oswego graduate student Toni Burrows to hang in an exhibition of 20 student abstract artworks from around the 64-campus system in the SUNY Global Center in Manhattan.

Residents at Bishop’s Commons have been “Exploring Art” with the help of SUNY Oswego Art Program students. Established last year, the SUNY/Senior “Exploring Art” program has grown in popularity among residents who have had the opportunity to either renew their interest in creative art, or simply try something new.

On November 20 at 7 p.m., Judy Levan, warning coordination meteorologist of the Buffalo office of the National Weather Service, will provide the members and guests of the Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service (RACES) with a  Skywarn training session on winter weather hazards. The program will be held at  the Oswego County Building in Fulton.

The Oswego Public Library’s Library Learning Center will offer a Twitter For Business and Organizations workshop on November 21. This class is free and runs from 2 to 4 p.m.
