The 4th annual National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day is April 28 across the U.S. Sea Grant officials are encouraging people to participate in the opportunity to properly dispose of unwanted or unused prescription drugs to keep them out of the Great Lakes.
A deserving Oswego High School music student will be rewarded annually as the result of the newly instituted Edward S. Lisk “Medal of Distinction.” Lisk, for decades, has provided the school district and community with unparalleled work as a musical pioneer.
Girl Scouts of all ages are invited to enjoy an evening of family fun at the Fulton Speedway on May 12. Gates open at 5 p.m. and the races start at 7 p.m. Those attending can meet and greet Sportsman Modified Drivers Katelyn Kane and Beth Schneider beginning at 5 p.m. in the grandstands.
“The commissioner and I agreed that we must do all we can to prevent any further loss of life from EEE, and that’s why I wanted to discuss this additional funding to ensure that we are taking every step we can to win the fight against EEE in Oswego County and Central New York,” Senator Ritchie said.
Students and employees of Cayuga Community College Fulton Campus recently presented Catholic Charities of Oswego County with a donation for the agency’s food pantry.
The four-hour art and music event commences at noon and will wind up at 4 p.m. on April 28. Featured will be the art and music from students in kindergarten through their senior year. The artwork of many talented students will be on display at OHS, but there is much more added to this year’s event.

The Cayuga Community College Student Activities Board and student organizations will host a Peace Festival from noon to 6 p.m. on April 28 at the Fulton Campus, 806 West Broadway.
Proceeds from the “Bundle of Bucks” Raffle go to the John Foster Burden Fund, which benefits those served by the St. Luke Family of Caring (St. Luke Health Services – Bishop’s Commons – Michaud Health Services).
The Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor Commission will welcome five new commissioners at a swearing ceremony at its meeting on April 25. Among them is Jonathan T. Daniels, Executive Director of the Port of Oswego Authority.
