New York Sea Grant Education Series Native or Invasive? Part II: Fishes

Eurasian ruffe is an invasive species that matures much faster than native Great Lakes fish and can adapt to a greater variety of habitats. As of mid-September 2011, this invader was not known to occur in Eastern Lake Ontario. Photo: Gary Cholwek.The ruffe has an advantage over all of these native species. It can reproduce multiple times a year, matures faster, and can adapt to a greater variety of habitat types. For these reasons, it is a threat to Great Lakes fisheries.

A map where users can identify campus locations, and their relative position to these spaces, is among the many features of SUNY Oswego's new mobile website. Officially launched in November, the mobile site also offers news feeds, a calendar of events, contact information and other user-centered features.The launch of SUNY Oswego’s new mobile website allows users to connect with the campus through a location-based map, interactive directory and many other features.

Sheriffs Benevolent Association Donates to Human Concerns Center

Sheriff Reuel A. Todd and Undersheriff Eugene F. Sullivan, III, recently made a food donation to the Human Concerns Center on behalf of the Oswego County Sheriff's Benevolent Association to assist with the Thanksgiving Project sponsored by the Human Concerns Center.  Shown in the attached picture (left to right) are Kim Schafer, Human Concerns volunteer, Sheriff Todd, Ginny Congden, Human Concerns volunteer, and Undersheriff Sullivan.  Sheriff Reuel A. Todd and Undersheriff Eugene F.
