CNY Arts Center’s ambitious Butterfly Project, 15,000 Butterflies for 15,000 children, has surpassed its goal by nearly 3,000 and will launch the Butterfly exhibit with the opening of the play that prompted the project to begin with, I Never Saw another Butterfly. The play runs May 11-20 with Friday and Saturdays at 7 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. at the Arts Center

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program, a division of SUNY Oswego’s Office of Business and Community Relations, is now enrolling participants in its “6 Steps to Better Balance” course.

Members of Concinnity, the local select women’s vocal ensemble, believe that “In our changing climate, politically and otherwise, it is important for everyone to stand up for peace, justice, love and hope.” The concert will be held at the First United Methodist Church, Oswego, on May 12.

Tom Knight, a singer, songwriter, puppeteer and more was a recent guest visitor at Sandy Creek Elementary where he performed for several classes at the school. His songs, in a variety of musical styles, appeal to the students while carrying an important message within.

The Fulton Music Association’s 21st annual Celebration of Community Music will be presented on May 12 at 7 p.m., at the G. Ray Bodley High School auditorium. The 2018 FMA senior music awards will also be announced at this event and each recipient will perform.

More than 110 animal lovers came to the Oswego County Humane Society’s Fur Ball on April 28 to celebrate their love for animals and to support the programs of the Humane Society. The event included music by Larry Kyle of Dam Dog, a wine and beer tasting sponsored by Eagle Beverage Corp., dinner provided by the American Foundry, music by Millennium Music and a silent and live auction, with Tom Ciappa volunteering as auctioneer.

The public hearing on the Fulton City School District’s proposed 2018-19 budget, which was held on May 2, will be aired on Spectrum Cable public access channel 96 in Fulton. The hearing will air through May 14 each day at 8 a.m., 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. It will air May 15, at 8 a.m. and 7 p.m.
