Fulton Council Passes Resolution of Respect for Former Councilor, Daniel Knopp

The Fulton Common Council unanimously approved a resolution of respect in honor of former common councilor, Daniel H. Knopp Jr., who passed away on September 8, 2016. “We may never know why things happen the way they do. Dan was a good man and for all the time he spent as common councilman, he always did something good for the city. We will miss him very much,” the mayor said.

Mayor Ronald Woodward Sr. and the Fulton Common Council officially proclaimed the week of October 10-16 as Knights of Columbus Week in the city of Fulton. The proclamation comes as Saint Josephs Council, No. 254, Knights of Columbus in Fulton, New York acknowledges its anniversary of 119 years since chartered in August 1, 1987 and Saint Josephs Assembly, No. 748, Knights of Columbus in Fulton, New York acknowledges its anniversary of 106 years since being chartered on August 1, 1910.

Senator Ritchie’s Senior Health and Wellness Fair Draws Big Crowd

State Senator Patty Ritchie hosted a senior health and wellness fair at the Fulton Ice Arena that brought in more than 500 seniors from all over Oswego County. Friends of Fulton Parks, OCO Reveal Lake Neatahwanta Trail

The Friends of Fulton Parks partnered with Oswego County Opportunities Impact Program hosted a grand reveal of the newly refurbished Lake Neatahwanta nature trail on Saturday, Sept 17. OCO Health Services Hits the Road with Mobile HIV Testing Van

In a direct response to Governor Cuomo’s plan to end the HIV epidemic in New York State, the NYS Department of Health AIDS Institute has awarded Oswego County Opportunities a grant to begin a mobile HIV testing initiative in Oswego County. The grant is one of only three that were awarded in the Upstate area and is the only one that serves such a rural community as Oswego County.

Fulton Junior High Principal Resignation Approved

The Fulton City School District Board of Education unanimously accepted the resignation of four district employees including the principal of Fulton Junior High School, Ryan Lanigan. Lanigan’s resignation will become effective October 7, 2016 and school officials are in the beginning stages of the process to finding a replacement.

The official grand opening of Tops Friendly Market in Hannibal brought local organizations $3,000 worth of Tops gift cards. Community, the recurring theme of the opening, was strongly emphasized as Tops officials, village representatives, customers, Tops associates and the Hannibal Tops store manager Sean Grant officially opened the 172nd chain store of Tops Market.
