OHS Frosh Kick Off School Year
More than 300 incoming Oswego High School freshmen will breathe a little easier on Wednesday 9 when they arrive for the first day of classes. On Sept. 3, the majority of the new first-year students visited, toured and ate at Oswego High School during the annual freshman orientation.
Jay John Barboni was sentenced this morning (Sept. 4) to 25 years to life for murdering a child. Barboni, 31, formerly of Falcon Drive, Liverpool, was convicted early last month of second-degree murder, a class A felony, and first-degree manslaughter, a class B felony.
More than 100 SUNY Oswego flooded the farmers’ market Thursday night. The students were able to find out about their new community as well as pick up some fresh produce, homemade goodies and other treats.
The deteriorated basketball court and lodge at the camp are considered safety hazards by the state. The Youth Bureau has funds to repair the court. It is seeking grant funding for work on the lodge.
