Police Investigating Injuries To Toddler
At about 3:48 p.m. Wednesday, Oswego police officers and rescue personnel from the Oswego City Fire Department were dispatched to 136 W. Cayuga St. regarding a serious injury to a toddler. The toddler may have been struck by a passing vehicle which left the scene prior to the arrival of emergency personnel.
Proponents claim if teachers teach an additional period a day it would be a win-win for everyone involved. Others say there is more to the situation than just adding one more period. During the public session, a speaker claimed one board member was crunching numbers to make his argument appear credible.
The average temperature was just 0.7-degree warmer than average. And, the total precipitation was 0.47-inch below normal.
The Oswego County Health Department is working with the U.S. Department of Agriculture again this year in a rabies vaccine distribution program to prevent the spread of raccoon rabies in New York State. Planes flying over rural northern Oswego County will drop packets of rabies vaccine between today (Aug. 28) and Sept. 3.
The ranks of Oswego County’s Youth Court swelled by nearly two dozen on Tuesday night. Youth Court is a recognized community diversion program aimed at keeping young offenders out of Family Court. Research has shown that youth who go through the Youth Court process “are very unlikely” to be repeat offenders. The program gives young offenders who stay out of trouble a fresh start.
