Oswego Native Hopes Radio On The Internet Brings You News And A Smile

Marv KaminskyYou might have noticed something new in the last few weeks, over at the top of the second column.  We’re bringing you the daily audio reports of a new website called RadioOswego.com.  Today, meet Marv Kaminsky, the voice behind RadioOswego.com.  He once was a radio newscaster in Oswego County, back when there was local news and local radio.  Local radio stations may be a thing of the past, but Marv says there’s still a need for local information in broadcast style.  Check out RadioOswego through the links on our site, and take a look at our profile of a man who’s trying to bring back local radio.

One Child Gives To Help Others

<p>Mary Buske poses with the two deputies that ran the Operation Safe Kid program. The sheriff's department also took up a penny collection to help Mary's efforts to both help the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and The Ride for Missing Children and to let Mary know they haven't forgotten her aunt, Heidi Allen.</p>Mary Buske turned eleven years old in July. Instead of asking for gifts, she asked her friends to bring “Pennies for Posters.” Mary and her mom, Lisa Buske, have traveled the past couple years to Utica and Albany to support “The Ride for Missing Children.” The Ride for Missing Children is a fundraiser to raise awareness for the missing while also educating children to keep them safe

Second Mural Planned For West Riverwalk

<p>Mike Myers displays one of the proposed ideas for a section of a new mural on the West Riverwalk. Looking on at a recent committee meeting are councilors Sue Sweet and Mike Joyce.</p>The student-created mural along West Riverwalk, under the Rail Trail Bridge, is about to get some company. The Common Council is considering allowing a group of six more teen-age artists to display their work in that area. A mural committee was formed at the mayor’s request earlier this year. The intent was to engage youth (graffiti) taggers and non-taggers to beautify the city’s riverwalk areas with artwork and to discourage continued graffiti in the area

Pair Allegedly Forcibly Injected Children With Insulin

Members of the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office have arrested Howard E. Kriese, 32, of 302 N. Center St., East Syracuse, and Korena R. Thompson, 34, of 956 Middle Road, Lot 5, Oswego, charging both with two counts each of Reckless Endangerment in the First Degree, a class D felony, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a class A misdemeanor.
